Armonaitė: the goal will be to help more freelancers

“Yesterday at the Budget and Finance Committee we announced that we had found additional funds in the internal resources of the Ministry, 150 million. “We are seriously considering the possibility of helping more freelancers: those who work individually, (…) or on the basis of commercial licenses,” the minister said during an hour of Government in Seimas on Thursday when asked about relief measures. Orinta Leiputė, a member of the Social Democratic Group, asked him for business.

A. Armonaitė said that he understood that the pandemic benefit of 257 euros granted by the Employment Service to the self-employed forced to suspend their activities is insufficient to satisfy basic needs, so the second package of business support measures will be aimed at these people.

“It’s good that maybe there isn’t that much, but there is a benefit from the Employment Service. I realize that for people who have savings it is extra money, but for people who live from one income to another, it is not really enough to meet their basic needs. So we will try to launch an aid measure just for them, “said the minister.

“We also appreciate the opportunity to help the markets, they could also be in the second business support package, which I hope will start at least in a month,” added A. Armonaitė.
