2019 In late June, officials from the Marijampolė Wildlife Protection Inspectorate of the Marijampolė Board of the Department of Environmental Protection received a notification that illegally hunted red deer were being processed on a non-residential farm.

Upon reaching the abandoned farm, environmentalists found the heads of two male deer. At that time, the deadline for hunting these animals had already expired.

The abandoned farm was in the vicinity of another farm, where S. Ambraziejus, who is already known to environmentalists and lived, is prone to natural violations. He greeted officers while intoxicated, threatened an environmentalist, saying he knew where his house would burn him.

After this event, at the beginning of July, the farms of the family house of the environmentalist RS burned down. The incident led the environmentalist to voluntarily resign.

It is true that the enforcement of the arson law was not related to the threats from S. Ambrazey, he was not even charged with that.

Although the person denied having committed his crimes, the Marijampolė District Court, which examined the case, found the person guilty of terrorizing the person by threatening to set the person on fire, committing an act dangerous to life, health and property. The person was also found guilty of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

As a result of these actions, the person was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, with a 2-year suspension. It is required from 10 pm until 6 pm to be at home. The person must also compensate the environmentalist for moral damages of 1,000 euros.

The court referred the case of illegal hunting of two male red deer to the Department of Environmental Protection of the Ministry of the Environment. The accused will assume administrative responsibility in accordance with article 290 of the CC. Paragraph 8. You face a fine of between 800 and 1,800 euros.

The judgment can be appealed to the Kaunas Regional Court within 20 days from the date of its publication through the Marijampolė Chamber of the Marijampolė District Court.
