According to the interlocutor, the family celebrated Rasa’s birthday on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. Early on Wednesday morning, around 3 p.m., the wife went for a walk with the dog. And so far he has not returned.

“I also went out to wait, to dig the snow. <...> And I asked the caller where he is, he said that near the house. And I see a collapse coming from the neighbors. All the neighbors’ houses fell and they go in a circle all that landslide. And then I threw everything away, I ran screaming to keep going, but it was too late. The electricity’s gone, it’s all over. And then I came back, I ran to the house and the hosts where we live together, [sako]evacuate [reikia], directly on the machine. While we were standing, we also evacuated, ”Ramūnas recalls the sequence of events.

Like in the horror movie, I saw the end of the world.

The man realized that his wife had collapsed.

„<...> When he said he was near the house, I realized he was right here, crossing the path. And that’s it, I tried calling again, the connection is gone. <...> Like in the horror movie, I saw the end of the world. Because everyone was sleeping at the time, maybe I was the only one who saw it, ”he says.

The first bodies of the dead were found by the rescue team on Friday, there were already seven by Sunday. On Monday, specialists discovered a live dog that inspired hope that people would be left alive underground. Still, Ramūnas hopes rescuers will at least find his wife’s body.

“Healthy – I don’t expect it anymore, no. At least they would find the body. Don’t expect anything after so many days. Besides, it’s very cold, 11 degrees cold with us,” says Ramūnas, who is currently staying with his son and his son.

Apart from R. Lasinskienė, 49, rescuers have not found two Norwegian nationals aged 50 and 13.

Norwegian portals say the rescue operation is still underway, but another landslide on Tuesday afternoon has delayed work somewhat.

Experts say the landslide occurred at a time when the 300- and 800-meter-high alumina had sunk. The area where Ask is located has abundant reserves of floating clay. It can be converted from a solid to a semi-liquid mass under certain conditions.

The town of Asko is located about 25 km northeast of Oslo. In a settlement of 5,000 people, at least nine buildings with a landslide that devastated more than 30 apartments are believed to have claimed the most lives in modern Norwegian history.
