“I am interested in basically all the functions of this center, and now exclusively during this pandemic, this crisis, I am interested in that organization functions in the most efficient way possible,” the minister said in the 15min.lt study on Monday.
According to him, it is important to know and discover ways to optimize processes, since it is clear that some of them could be executed automatically.
According to the minister, it is also important to evaluate the current strategy to combat the pandemic, for example, whether it makes sense to trace the contacts of those infected if this is not done within 48 hours.
“The question is how many hundreds of people are involved in an unnecessary process that may no longer be necessary. And I’m trying to send those messages to the leaders of this organization, so we can basically see how we organize the work, and not just look formally where and in what order what is written, ”said A. Dulkys.
He says the ministry has made efforts to reduce the burden on medical institutions to complete additional forms to provide information to the NVSC.
We also try to free medical institutions from all kinds of obligations in the whole process: both make a phone call and write a letter, then go into e-health, then we try to take two elements out of those three elements from medical institutions and leave them in peace. systems ”, said the minister.
In response to the open letter from NVSC employees regarding unfounded criticism of the institution’s center director and poor employee well-being, A. Dulkys emphasized that ensuring employee motivation and well-being is also the responsibility of the manager.
“As a minister, I will definitely make efforts to regain the organizational culture, the mood, the motivation and other things in this organization, if the current leaders cannot secure them,” promised A. Dulkys.
According to him, the situation, when ambiguous information and data are provided, does not allow to make not only long-term strategic decisions, but also to properly assess the daily situation.
The Health Ministry reported last week that 804 unaccounted deaths related to the coronavirus were detected during the digitization of NVSC operations.
Last Tuesday, A. Dulkys discussed the situation with Robertas Petraitis, but said that he was not convinced by the answers from the head of the NVSC, so he asked to present them in writing.
At the time, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė reacted more harshly: she said that the NVSC leadership must take responsibility.
NVSC chief R. Petraitis announced at a press conference on Sunday that there had been a significantly higher number of unaccounted for deaths: 1,171, but assured that the situation was not due to the fault of the institution he ran, but to the lack of timely information provided by hospitals.
The Statistics Department said Monday that a total of 1,950 people have died from coronavirus.
The number of deaths for other reasons is not yet provided, this data is processed by going to the publication of information based on the information from the death certificates, instead of the data provided by the NVSC.
