Guoga defies Uspaskich: he won’t resign and will raise the president’s question at the council in January

Mr. Guoga does not abandon his position in the conflict with the leader of the Labor Party and goes on to argue that it is Mr. Uspaskich, whose speech on immunity from COVID-19, which could threaten and mislead the public, should resign.

According to him, the “workers” need a “less wavy” person. Therefore, politicians hope that the Labor Party structures will seriously consider this issue in early January.

“It just came to my knowledge then. I think it would be good if there were different opinions in the game. I was the only one who could say something. It seems to me that this issue is very important and cannot be ignored. I think I am right, and at the at the same time I see that Viktor is withdrawing (…), and I see that the party structures have withdrawn from the water distribution, ”A. Guoga told Eltai.

According to the politician, after his question about the insufficiency of V. Uspaskich’s actions, the “workers”, although they reacted with moderation towards their leader, decided to convene a party council at the beginning of January. It is during this time, explained the deputy, that it will be possible to consider the question of the fate of V. Uspaskich himself as president. According to A. Guoga, it would be best if the council decided to change the party president anyway.

“During the council meeting, we will be able to raise Viktor’s question about whether he needs to leave. I think there are other people who don’t wave as strongly … I don’t pretend at all, but I think it would be appropriate for Victor to leave.” he has found water that heals, that heals and that he distributes it all over the world, “said A. Guoga.

However, if it was decided not to change the party president, but, after V. Uspaskich’s speech, withdraw him from the party, there should be, says A. Guoga, specific reasons for such a decision. Otherwise, the politician assured, he would simply be dealing with a “worker” who has a different opinion than V. Uspaskich.

“After all, there is no Soviet Union or dictatorship here, so a person can say they are kicking me out. I don’t think it’s adequate. We see that, in general, their actions today are inadequate. But I hope the full moon passes and that wave ends. Still, the people, the voters of the Labor Party, ranked me first. The support of the people is enormous, ”said A. Guoga, assuring that if he was expelled from the Labor Party, he would not see a great tragedy.

“I’m not really worried about that. I’m a free person, I always say my opinion. For me, there really is no authority for who wants to distribute holy water that heals people. I think it’s too much,” said a member of the Seimas who had previously participated in politics with many parties.

He does not know if he would be expelled from the Labor Party

When asked if he would remain in the Seimas after losing his membership in the Labor Party, A. Guoga hesitated.

“I would consult my wife and family on how to proceed. I am not holding on to that mandate. I came to the Seimas according to the party list. But you also have to take into account that I am listed as a leader, although I was not seen in advertisements or anywhere, “he said, assuring that he had not yet spoken and had not considered any possibility of moving to another faction in the Seimas. A. Guoga had mentioned the possibility of resigning from the legislature even before taking the oath in the Seimas.

ELTA recalls that Mr. Uspaskich’s invitation to buy water, which supposedly helps establish immunity against COVID-19, has received widespread public criticism and attention from responsible services. Following this publicly announced call from the MEP, the State Food and Veterinary Office (SFVS) has launched an investigation.

On Tuesday, A. Guoga told Eltai that such public statements by V. Uspaskich are not in line with the values of the Labor Party and are intolerable as they can harm Lithuania in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to A. Guoga’s statements, V. Uspaskich stated that he would no longer see A. Guoga’s continued presence in the ranks of the “workers”.

“It seems to me that he has already spoken. He not only named me and the party in every way (…) He chose an advertising campaign, perhaps with which the Freedom Party agreed, so he is looking for reasons to leave (. ..). Therefore, it seems to me that his days are numbered “, V. Uspaskich told Eltai.
