Approval of the budget. President Gitanas Nausėda signed the 2021 budget. It provides 7%. GDP deficit of the public administrations. The president says such a deficit must be a short-term phenomenon, and temporary relief measures during a coronavirus pandemic cannot become permanent spending.

Unaccounted for deaths. The Ministry of Health reported that to date, the general statistics of the National Public Health Center have counted 324 deaths from coronavirus registered in e. health system, as well as 480 deaths from other causes of death from coronavirus. According to the center, this may be due to the heavy workload of the treatment institution that does not transmit information about the death to the center or is delayed. According to official data, a total of 1,347 people died from coronavirus in Lithuania.

Lessons from parliamentarians. Dozens of Seimas members participated in training on how to work remotely. Two more trainings have been scheduled for Wednesday and a simulation of the plenary session will be held in January. The amendments to the Statute of the Seimas adopted in December establish that remote sessions can be organized by decision of the Council of the Seimas.
