“So far, I think we are at such a stagnant stage in the sense that there is no intention to relax or tighten the quarantine in the coming days. We cannot draw conclusions from the statistics that we have that allow us to unequivocally state current trends, ”the Prime Minister told LRT Radio, noting that in recent days the lower number of fixed infections has been caused simply by lower volumes of tests .
According to the Head of Government, it will be possible to say more about the continuation of the application of the quarantine measures once the holiday period is over.
“I think it will be very difficult for us to say what the specific stage is at the moment and how many additional measures are or are not needed until we get through the Christmas season. Considering the mitigation in early January, I think there really will be no basis. But if the dynamics are still favorable and we see it for a few weeks, then in the second half of January we could talk about somewhere. But it is certain that not all restrictions will be lifted “, detailed I. Šimonytė.
“I think without the Three Wise Men we can’t really say anything about the dynamics and the trend. Now we have a series of separate episodes and those individual episodes didn’t tell us the story, ”he added.
Finally, according to I. Šimonytė, for the moment we can only rejoice that during the Christmas holidays the Lithuanian health system resisted.
“Probably good news to tell ourselves, albeit with caution, is that in four days of unemployment, our healthcare system has withstood it. Because it really could have been different. However, this is no reason to relax, ”the Prime Minister summarized.
