The Slovenian government decree temporarily banning the alpine ski resort came into effect on December 24.
The resort management’s decision was criticized by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša. “Germany. French and Italian mountain resorts are completely closed, wrote the politician on Twitter.” These countries have a better epidemiological situation than Slovenia and have more health resources to treat more patients with coronavirus.
The first case of coronavirus infection in Slovenia was registered on March 4. Since then, the number of infected people in the country has reached 114,025 and 2,532 people have died.
There is currently an epidemic regime throughout Slovenia. Movement between the regions of the country and going abroad is allowed only for important reasons, from 9 pm to 6 pm valid for curfew. The only exceptions are Christmas and New Years. These days, all Slovenians can visit family and friends living in the country.
