The 185cm long defender, along with the legendary Boston Celtics dynasty and Bill Russell at the forefront, won 8 NBA titles in a row in the late 1960s and first half of the 1970s.
NBA Jones spent 9 seasons and ended his career in 1967.
After completing his career as a basketball player, the American became a coach and coached the Celtics in 1983-1988, and with that organization he became a two-time NBA champion as chief strategist (1981 and 1986).
In 676 games played, Jones had 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
In 1989, the basketball player was inducted into the James Naismith Museum of Fame.
