Priest Doveika: “We didn’t find time to pray, but we managed to talk to others”

All the last few years have been really difficult for each of us. Not only in the country, but also around the world, with the spread of the coronavirus, many people lost their jobs, income, valuable transactions, planned dreams and, what is more terrible, many Lithuanian families had to experience the painful feeling of losing a loved one.

I didn’t have time for a book, but I had time for gossip

When asked by Father Richard Doveika how not to lose faith in everyday life in such a dark time, the priest says that all of this is determined by our environment: challenges, circumstances, decisions, human conscience and mind.

“I think those of us who find time for what’s important are the ones who have a full shift for the rest of the year,” he says.

“There were quite a few people who said that even while they were in quarantine, they did not have time to broadcast the Holy Mass online. He didn’t have time for personal prayer, he didn’t have time to read a book, flip through a photo album, sit down and just be with him. Therefore, all these things are not important to them yet.

But for some reason we managed to find time for gossip, intrigue, put-downs, other people’s gossip. See how many people find time for negative comments after articles – hundreds of thousands. Anger, resentment, accusations, teasing. Violence. People are jealous, gossipy, which means that they themselves lack something, because only a very unhappy person can write a negative comment.

A person who has time to be unhappy and makes no effort to free himself from tragedy, misfortune, the temptation of his personal life, living in a window counting the minutes, aspirations, joys and misfortunes of another life. This means that you have not yet reached the bottom of the darkness of your life and you will need a lot of experience to swell and it is time for you to live your life.

I would start to worry, and at what point do I look? What word am I saying? Can I rejoice, smile, may someone else be lucky, may someone else have a successful year? ”Says the priest sensitively.

Priest Richard Doveika

The practice of faith is very important

According to R. Doveika, now, as never before, it is very important for a person to know himself. The priest says that a believing person does this during the Advent period, even when making a confession:

“When we go to confession, we erase everything negative, we deliver all our sins to the audience. We give them to someone who does not dump them in some landfill or does not keep records, so that in time and when the need arises, they take it out and blame it. I give them to the mercy of God, who destroys sins because he does not have a dump for the sins of humanity.

Although St. Christmas is a religious holiday, there are many people in the world who firmly believe that they are believers, only those who do not practice it. Priest R. Doveika says that only by constantly practicing faith will we really feel it.

“I believe, but I don’t practice. What does it mean to believe but not practice? Perhaps it is just as important to marry a man and never say ‘I love you.’

What kind of relationship can a husband and wife create if they marry and never say love, never make an effort to combat imperfections, notice, surprise a man? This year’s Christmas discovery could be a problem for all of us, and what can I do to make it “faith and practice”?

The practice of faith in this world today shows that it is a source of strength, wisdom and peace, clarity of mind, transparency of soul, awareness of eyes and correct decisions. A life of prayer, an encounter with oneself, the ability to apologize to oneself is a source to represent the expression of the current world ”, says Doveika, adding that the strength is in each one of us.

Wisdom speaks not in vain: “You will be able to kneel before God, you will represent anything in life.” But how difficult it would be if, looking at my life, a man could say the wisdom of one of the greatest: “I walked down the street, I saw very beautiful clothes, but I did not see a man with them.”

I believe that these two sayings of being able to kneel before God have been able to represent anything: they are our strength for the year to come. And how painful it would be if the wisdom of that old man, God forbid, could adapt to one of us with the blackness of at least one fingernail, ”says the priest with sensitivity.

Winter is coming to Lithuania

I wish peace to the inner heart

Asked what the priest would like to wish the Lithuanians on the occasion of the holidays this year, R. Doveika assures that first of all he would like to thank him.

“I would like to thank you that we have all been and are together in Lithuania this year. Different and different, here is the unity of our entire nation. A communion of different and different. I would like us to be proud of this communion, to protect it. For May the believers bless our land. To those whose faith is still in the ark of discovery, we wish our land good luck. May we never transmit humiliations, curses and negativity to our country. “

Well, and for each of us, the priest R. Doveika St. On the occasion of Christmas, wish your inner heart peace and learn to remain calm in your heart.

“All our treasure is in the peace of our hearts. It is not only the prosperous prosperity of Lithuania that we care about. Today, we all need to build trust in Lithuania. I would like to wish that each year each of us receives a small fire to light the light of our heart, the Lithuanian light of trust.

By creating a relationship of trust in Lithuania, we will create the prosperity and future of our nation. I wish it with the blessing of God, with the experience that He is always close to us. I wish our hand was always in the palm of your hand, then it would always be good, because whatever happens, the prophecy of Scripture is fulfilled: R. Doveika.
