In December, Rytas lost to Kaunas “Žalgiris” and Panevėžys “Lietkabelius” in the Lithuanian Basketball League, and lost twice in the Champions League to Riga VEF.

After swallowing another bitter pill, Rytas executives decided to publicly apologize to their fans at the start of the festivities. The list featured the address of the club’s director, Justas Jankauskas, to the fans.
We would like to apologize to the “Rytas” fans for the unjustified results of the recent team. They do not fully meet the seasonal targets set. We also want to ensure that there are no more people experiencing failure at Rytas than working within the club.
At this point, we want to express our full support to the coaching staff and the players. We are aware of the difficulties the team has had to face since the start of the season.
These words do not seek excuses. However, it cannot be ignored that the situation due to injuries and the virus at the club stabilized just a few days ago. We want to make sure that the work in the organization is continuous and that everyone has only one wish: to give victories to the fans.
