May 22 The married couple was supposed to rest in Cuba, but a few months ago they realized that their dream honeymoon trip would have to be abandoned. Then she was not only preparing for the wedding, but was also looking for a new place to live.
“The map of Lithuania was lit before my eyes, and my future wife joked that if we rented an expensive apartment in Kaunas, we could only go to nearby Lithuania, London or Switzerland.” 15 minutes wrote a couple. “And then we thought: If we have a quarantined wedding, why not organize a quarantined honeymoon?”
Kaunas residents have long known that there are cities in Lithuania whose names are place names from other countries, but that it would be even more interesting to visit these places, they thought and originally immortalized them. The couple held photo shoots near Venice, Switzerland, London and Paris, with a different idea for each location.
“We didn’t want simple ‘selfies,'” they explained. – At first we thought we would have a picnic in Paris, and the next day we came up with ideas for other photos. It was not difficult, we looked at everything with a smile, because when we drove to a certain place we knew how we would be dressed, how we would sit or stand. ”
Therefore, the couple formed a truly exclusive honeymoon photoshoot in two days. The next day after the wedding, they went to Switzerland, then to Venice. “We thought we could do it all, but the trip to Europe took longer than planned, and we had to postpone the photo shoot after dark,” the spouses recalled. Then the couple went to Nida for a few days to rest, and the “overseas honeymoon” continued when they returned.
The residents of Kaunas did not need help from those around them, they were rescued by a camera tripod and a timer. Still, the couple did not go unnoticed by people, although the locals are probably used to the photo shoots on the signs, they saw at least smiles or moderate nods. “We only had more stormy reactions near the Venice sign, we were probably better prepared for it,” Kaunas residents said.
The newlyweds not only took pictures on the signs, but also visited the towns themselves, which turned out to be very beautiful and orderly for them. “Lithuanian Switzerland was pleasantly surprised, it is the largest of all the places visited. Our fields and cows are even more beautiful than in the real one!” They did not forgive their praise.
The couple who likes to travel also visited the real Paris, London, Switzerland, but have not yet arrived in Venice, although they have already visited Rome and Naples in Italy. “But we also publicly promise to go to Venice,” they promised.
The couple added that as the photos spread, they also received messages from strangers that they also needed to visit India. They knew such a place in Lithuania, but deliberately did not choose it, because it has not yet been in this country. “It is a shame that there is no New York in Lithuania where we have engaged,” they said.
Kaunas residents shared photos from an adventure photoshoot on Facebook, and they were immediately broadcast – hundreds of people shared them and congratulated them on their originality. The couple admitted that they were very surprised by such attention.

“With this photo shoot we wanted to entertain friends, get to know Lithuania; we really didn’t think we would attract the attention of strangers.” However, we did not emphasize all this too much, the most important thing is that we had a good time and had an unforgettable honeymoon, ”they assured.
The couple promise to continue traveling around Lithuania in the summer, and they really don’t plan on going abroad just yet. “Health is more important,” they stressed. However, after the pandemic has subsided, the newlyweds intend to use the coupon received for the canceled flights and embark on another trip.
The couple’s positivity is fascinating: They joke that the honeymoon trip was even better than planned in January. “We only felt bitter about the trip canceled the first day we canceled it.” We will continue visiting Cuba, and we will remember this honeymoon for life, “said the newlyweds.
Similarly, they do not complain that the wedding had to be quarantined. The couple did not even consider postponing their celebration, and they are happy with that decision. It is a pity, according to them, only one thing: that several loved ones living abroad were unable to attend the celebration.
“And the wedding went as planned, and even better. We are so happy with our cozy vacation, we never dreamed of a big wedding, we could get married for two, “they said.” Quarantine has only shown the importance of marriage: after all, big celebrations and three-story cakes and long Wedding trips are not an indicator of a happy and sustainable marriage. “
Incidentally, there are even more surprising village names in Lithuania. Here you can find a map with the names of the strangest places in the country.
