“It just came to our knowledge then. And then everything is regrettable, but it changes like a war and knowledge changes every day. All I can say is that what will be this week is fully prepared for it,” said I. Šimonytė to reporters at the Seimas on Tuesday.

Vaccination against the coronavirus is scheduled for December 27. According to I. Šimonytė, all responsible institutions are ready for the arrival of vaccines.

It was previously announced that the first batch of vaccines would contain just under 10,000 doses.

“When the second batches arrive and in what quantities, what will be the dynamics, it is unfortunate, but that information changes practically not in days, but in hours. As a result, I just don’t want to mislead you and I don’t want to mislead the public, “said the Prime Minister.

The possibility of not treating COVID-19 coronavirus deniers who do not intend to get vaccinated has been considered.

When asked what he thought about it, I. Šimonytė explained that there are also thoughts that perhaps the market incentives should be such that people can pay for resuscitation out of their own pockets and know how much it really costs.

“But obviously we have a universal guarantee of health services, which is provided for in our Constitution, that the necessary medical care is provided. This will be given to everyone: be you a vaccine or an antivax. I am very sorry that there are people who selectively recognize the ‘vaccines’ produced by our eastern neighbor. For some reason, those vaccines aren’t scary, even though vaccines are like that too. But here is perhaps the irony of life, ”commented the Prime Minister.

I. Šimonytė stressed that all necessary information on vaccines would be provided.
