As announced by the Minister of Health at the press conference, the list of countries in the European Union from which isolation is no longer required after the entry into force entered into force on June 1. In such countries, according to the Minister, the case of COVID-19 infections in 14 days should not exceed 15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The list of countries will be updated every week.

In addition, on Monday the list of municipalities whose average incidence of COVID-19 will exceed the Lithuanian average will be published.

“In those municipalities there will be more intensive tests, more samples, more specific tests. This Monday, the incidence rate in 6 municipalities exceeded the Lithuanian average. These are the city of Vilnius, the Vilnius district, Lazdijai, Ignalina, Šalčininkai and the Skuodas district. More tests will be planned in these areas, “said A. Veryga.

According to the Minister, according to Lithuanian statistics, people over the age of 60 have a higher death rate than COVID-19.

“However, a more intensive hospitalization, when a person needs help in a hospital, begins around the age of 65. Most of those who died of coronavirus also had comorbidities. These are cardiovascular diseases, and a significant proportion have suffered from oncological diseases. , but we must realize that these diseases are not necessarily a death sentence for a person. As is the case with other viral infections, such as influenza, those who already have a chronic disease are more vulnerable, “said the head of SAM .

There are 64 patients in the hospital.

Rolanda Lingienė, head of the Vilnius department of the National Center for Public Health (NVSC), said at a press conference that 64 patients are being treated in hospitals, including 3 in resuscitation and intensive care units, 1 patient is receiving artificial lung ventilation and 18 patients are being treated with oxygen masks.

“Yesterday, 3 cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed. All cases were registered in Vilnius County. Case 1 refers to an approach at the Santara clinics, that is, a person close to the Santara clinics. The second patient is a nurse at the Vilnius Republican Psychiatric Hospital, she was diagnosed during a preventive examination and did not feel any symptoms. 8 workers with high risk exposure and 8 patients were identified. The third person who became ill yesterday is an assistant nurse in the Vilnius Republican Psychiatric Hospital. The person does not feel any symptoms, “said R. Lingienė.

According to R. Lingienė, 13 new coronavirus infections were detected on Friday and Saturday. 1 – in Telšiai county, 2 in Utena, 2 in Klaipėda, 8 in Vilnius county. Four cases were imported: two from Sweden, one from England and one from Denmark. 6 related to the approach of the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital and the Santara Clinics.

“One person who had a COVID-19 infection died, but the cause of death was found in another, who had severe cardiomyopathy,” said R. Lingienė.

On Friday there were 2 deaths from COVID-19. One person in the 81-90 age group with comorbidities died. The second person belonged to the 51-60 age group and also had comorbidities.

What do you need to know for those returning to Lithuania?

According to R. Lingienė, from now on, those who return from abroad due to COVID-19 will no longer be examined, and if necessary, people can go to the place of isolation by any means of transportation, municipal transportation is no longer will use for this purpose.

Furthermore, even those who have to isolate themselves after returning from abroad will be able to leave their place of isolation and walk no more than 1 kilometer. However, these people are still prohibited from going to mass gathering places, as well as supermarkets and coffee shops.

Furthermore, people who have to isolate themselves after returning from abroad will be able to leave their place of isolation and walk no more than 1 kilometer. However, these people are still prohibited from going to mass gathering places, as well as supermarkets and coffee shops.

“People who have come from abroad, if they need isolation, can isolate themselves with other family members only with their consent to accept people who have returned from abroad,” said R. Lingienė.
According to the Minister, it would be a mistake to keep people who came to Lithuania from other countries at home without allowing them to leave.

“Not releasing them completely, now in fine weather, without visiting the listed places, supermarkets, or other places where people congregate, there probably wouldn’t be much point in simply closing them and thus isolating them,” Veryga said.

On Monday, about 400 passengers arrive in Lithuania by plane.

According to the Minister, the psychological health of Lithuanians is currently deteriorating, but their dependence largely depends on the age group. For this reason, the government has already presented a plan of efforts to improve the psychological health of the population.

When asked by the Minister on what criteria quarantine would be terminated, A. Veryga replied that there are 4 main criteria, but they are indicative, although the current situation shows that the situation is nearing the end of quarantine.

“The latest data was calculated on May 29. There were 4 criteria approved. The overall morbidity rate, which was 5.9 at the time of the decision, has been reduced to 5.3. This means that the dynamics are improving The problematic criterion is that at least 90 percent. New cases of COVID-19 detected per week would be associated with localized and controlled outbreaks. Accepting these criteria, it was 95.1 and on the 29th it was 85.19, which means that there were more cases associated with non-localized outbreaks. This is the only criterion that has deteriorated during the week. The third criterion was the proportion of newly diagnosed cases on average. It should not exceed 0.5 percent, on May 29 it was 0.16 percent. The last criterion was that there should be a maximum of 5 imported cases. There were 4 cases on the 29th, “said A. Veryga.
