Aliaksandr Shakucin, a Belarusian businessman included in the European Union’s sanctions list, is the owner of the Amkodor Baltic company operating in the Vilnius district. It has received Lithuanian support for business development, LRT radio reported on Friday.

According to the national broadcaster, the company that produces tractors and forestry equipment in Lithuania has received support from the EU. She is on the list of companies affected by COVID-19 and is therefore allowed to pay taxes to the state at a later stage.

A. Šakucinas is a shareholder of the Amkodor holding company and chairs the board of directors. 11 years ago in Paberžė, he acquired a technical company and turned it into an assembly center for tractors and other Belarusian equipment. According to Sodra, the Paberžė company has nine employees.

According to LRT, the Lithuanian Business Support Agency in 2010 has provided more than one million euros in support of the new Amkodor Baltic line. The STI has allowed the company to postpone tax arrears of 2,600 euros until February next year.

The European Union (EU) on Thursday extended the sanctions on Belarus to include officials, businessmen and companies close to the Alexander Lukashenko regime, natural and legal persons to whom they will apply.

Sanctions were imposed on 29 natural persons and seven legal persons.

The EU is already imposing sanctions on Lukashenko, his son and more than 50 officials from the Minsk regime.
