Although Interpol warns that organized crime organizations can sell counterfeit COVID-19 vaccines, Laurynas Kasčiūnas says there are no known possible such intentions in Lithuania.

“The situation is under control. So far, there is no indication of a systematic attempt to counterfeit vaccines and create a black market in Lithuania. But obviously, it will be necessary to control the process, especially when the vaccination process begins, several low-control deals in the online space, ”said L. Kasčiūnas.

According to him, the state will have to publish a clear plan of who has the right to vaccinate so that people have no doubts.

BNS recalls that Deputy Minister of Health Živilė Simonaitytė said that the coronavirus vaccine will be transported to Lithuania and European countries during Christmas, the first vaccinations in Lithuania should take place on December 27.

During the Seimas Health Session on Friday, he stated that according to the latest data from the European Commission, the European Medical Agency Pfizer and BioNTech should approve the vaccine on December 21.
