So far, the area has been curated by the National Blood Center (NCC). These actions will continue to be carried out by the same personnel who previously worked for the NCC and have experience in ensuring a smooth process.

NVSPL assumes responsibility for sample distribution, taking into account the use of laboratories conducting SARS-CoV-2 testing. Currently, the number of COVID-19 studies exceeds 10,000 on average. per day, so sample distribution is a very important area that needs to run smoothly for tests to run smoothly.

According to NVSPL Director Dan Bakša, frequent sample collection helps laboratories use their capacity, they do not have to delay waiting for sample delivery or carry out tests without filling the apparatus with the maximum number of samples, operational logistics saves money, human labor and time.

According to the employees managing this process, Edita Urbonienė and Monika Martinkutė, the samples are collected at mobile points in Vilnius and transported to research laboratories up to four times a day. In Kaunas and Klaipėda, the intensity is also considerable: it is taught three times a day. Points in all other cities collect samples 1-2 times a day.

The National Public Health Laboratory is also responsible for providing public laboratories with the necessary tools for SARS-CoV-2 tests: reagents, tubes, swabs, and virological medium. This function includes the planning, acquisition and distribution of instruments.

NVSPL also performs clinical (eg blood), environmental (eg chemical, microbiological water, air) tests, physical and other waste measurements, and health training.
