A.Miečius has made the most jumps not only in the Lithuanian army, but is also one of the record holders among Lithuanian paratroopers, according to the report from the Ministry of National Defense.

Nine instructors were symbolically present during the jump. All the soldiers who made the jump together, including the head of the Lithuanian Army School, Colonel Egidijus Karvelis, congratulated A.Miečiai on a record jump, performing the “Star” free fall combination.

A.Miečius made his first parachute jump in 1981 at the Pociūnai airfield, at the then Kaunas Aviation Sports Club. Already in 1982 he joined the Lithuanian parachute team, in 1990 he became the head coach of the independent Lithuanian parachute sports team.

When the emerging Lithuanian army needed professional paratroopers, on August 1, 1991, A.Miečius joined its ranks. He began his service in the Training Department of the Department of National Defense, where he began to delve into the details and subtleties of the military jumps.

The officer has participated in various parachute sports competitions many times, and has become the Lithuanian champion more than 10 times. In 2007, A. Miečius improved the country’s precision landing record: hitting the center with a diameter of 3 centimeters 11 times in a row (world record – 12 times CISM (Conseil Internationale du Sport Militaire)).

A.Miečius is an international category judge, one of the most experienced parachute training instructors in Lithuania. The Lithuanian Armed Forces team led by him has won awards for many years in the precision jumping (precision landing) competition in international competitions in Europe.
