At the Ignalina District Hospital, which has become the focal point for COVID-19, the municipality began inviting volunteers to help with 17 employees and the majority of coronavirus patients.

Today a meeting was held in the municipality about a very difficult situation at the Ignalina District Hospital. This medical facility has become the site of a COVID-19 outbreak, with 17 workers and a higher proportion of patients, some members of the medical staff are in self-isolation and some are retiring.
The decision was made to ask volunteers for help, especially younger people who are already infected with COVID-19 and, according to experts, have had immunity for at least three months. Volunteers could perform auxiliary tasks like carrying food.
Today there will also be conversations with the district visitor care and other social workers, who, according to Mayor Justas Rasikas, should be the biggest pillar in this crisis situation. An attempt will be made to use the medical specialists from the Ignalina Health Office who work in the schools.
The COVID-19 Free Nursing Department and other patients will be discharged at the request of relatives and if they have access to home care. If supervision is not possible, assistance will be provided.
The municipality requested help from the Republican Hospital Panevėžys and a response is expected. Today at 2 pm A meeting of the Ignalina District Emergency Commission is called.
On Monday, the National Public Health Center (NVSC) reported that 1919 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed in Lithuania last day.
Of these, 656 were registered in Kaunas, 444 in Vilnius, 232 in Panevėžys, 155 in Alytus, 106 in Klaipėda, 90 in Marijampolė, 89 in Šiauliai counties. Another 74 cases of infection were confirmed in Telšiai, 46 in Tauragė and 9 in Utena counties. 18 cases have not yet been assigned to any region of the country due to lack of information. The regions to which these cases should be assigned will be clarified after the epidemiological survey.

Outbreaks in which two or more cases of coronavirus infection were recorded were detected on Sunday at the Klaipėda Lakštutė Disability Center, Lietuvos Geležinkeliai, Pasvalio vandenys, the State Border Guard Service, the Pasvalys Social Services Center and the Municipality of the Telšiai District.
In addition, cases related to outbreaks have been recorded in furniture manufacturing companies operating in Kaunas, Kazlų Rūda, Marijampolė, as well as in a collection company for plastic products operating in Biržai, in a yarn manufacturing company in Marijampolė , as well as in a company that deals with wood.
On Sunday, there were two or more cases of coronavirus infection, related to outbreaks in the construction company Panevėžys, dairy company in Pasvalys, sewing companies in Kupiškis and Telšiai.
In addition, cases related to outbreaks were reported on Sunday in transport, cleaning services, metal, plastic processing and sewing companies operating in Vilnius County, as well as in food industry and trade companies.

According to currently available data, 84 cases related to outbreaks in families were recorded in Lithuania on the last day.
