The project started with the works of artists: the first balcony in Vilnius Old Town was decorated with an exclusive installation by artist J.Vaitkutė. The artist, who festively decorated the “Jamaica” guest house, said the idea for the work was inspired by this unusual year.

“I wanted to create something strange that would awaken the usual imagination about traditional things and traditional festivals within the viewer. The idea of a bent spruce was born with the events of 2020 in mind, which altered the rhythm of the world. At the top of the installation, I planted an animal completely unknown in Lithuania: the conifer. In the spring, there was a lot of consideration that maybe this whole situation started because of him. The scream that amazes passersby with rays that shine in the eyes symbolizes the vagaries of nature that we cannot control. Nature is much more powerful than man and we have to live with it, ”said J. Vaitkutė about his work.
