Welcoming the winners of the national awards, Acting Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas noted that the awards are announced at a difficult time, when culture is going through a very difficult period, when artists face many challenges, when they do not suffer losses painful.
“But I think the bonuses are also a message of hope. It is a ray of hope that the cultural life in Lithuania does not stop, that the creativity, the strength of the cultural people and the creativity are able to overcome those difficult circumstances and continue go ahead, ”said Acting Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas during a press conference on Monday.
Audrius Stonys, chairman of the Lithuanian National Arts and Culture Awards Commission, stated that it was difficult to select the award winners also due to the fact that “culture and art are a very difficult substance to measure, weigh and compare. “.

“I believe that this award is a show of respect and gratitude to those luminaries of our culture who share their light with all the people of Lithuania,” emphasized the head of the commission.
This year, a total of 45 developers were nominated for national awards.
The Lithuanian National Art and Culture Awards recognize the most important works of art and culture created by the creators of the Lithuanian and Lithuanian global community during the last seven years, as well as works created during their lifetime.
The annual award is 800 basic social benefits, this year it amounts to 31.2 thousand. euros.
