“This year has brought challenges and challenges for each of us, but I have no doubt that we have learned to appreciate the most important things in life: good health, love and caring for loved ones, an easy opportunity to hug, be together and enjoy the moment. Despite everything, today begins a special period of the year, in which we all adapt to the current situation and use all our wisdom to create the spirit of Holy Christmas in our homes and families ”Greeted the mayor.
For the first time in Taurage, the interactive urban fir tree is decorated with garlands more than 2,000 meters long, which are connected by four steps. Each one of them is special: when you climb a Christmas tree, it lights up in different colors, familiar Christmas creations sound. Each ascent is associated with a certain melody and the ascent in which the greatest weight of people is recorded is activated.
Exclusive city decoration
In Taurage, a lot of attention is paid to the renovation and installation of Christmas decorations in the city. New exclusive ideas have also been implemented, the aim of which is to create a festive atmosphere in the city that will delight the entire festive period.
For the first time in Taurage, not only the city’s main Christmas tree shone, but also the entire alley of festive Christmas trees: 60 Christmas trees with a height of 1.8-2 meters were built. Municipal institutions of the Tauragė district, companies and organizations, communities, NGOs, business representatives and other organizations participated in the Christmas tree decoration campaign. All the Christmas trees are decorated with organic toys. The alley stretched from Tauragė Evangelical Lutheran Church to Tauragė St. Trinity Church Street, on which the prakartel was traditionally founded.
Tauragiškės and the guests of the city will once again be enchanted by the art installation, which will be visible in the windows of the Tauragė district municipal administration building throughout the festive period. True, this year it will be possible to see not only Santa Claus, but also Snow White, Olaf and Grinch,
“This year I had to give up Tauragiškė’s favorite entertainment: concerts, carousels, other events. Last year, Santa Claus, looking out the window of the municipality, did not leave anyone indifferent, so we decided to strengthen that impression and expand the list of characters ”, says Modestas Petraitis, director of the administration, about the idea of the artistic installation initiative.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, traditional Christmas fairs, concerts and other events will not take place in the city during the festive period. People are encouraged to act responsibly, not gather around, wear protective masks and keep a safe distance of 2 meters.
Tauragiškės and city guests can visit the interactive Christmas tree, take a walk through the Christmas tree alley and enjoy the festive decorations of the city until January 6.
