It will offer to continue the quarantine until December 31.
Acting Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga says he will intend to continue the quarantine in Lithuania until December 31. It is also intended to introduce stricter restrictions on commerce, leisure, education and other areas.
According to A. Veryga, these measures have already been discussed with Acting Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis and will be discussed further in the Covid-19 committee on Monday.
“The stricter quarantine should take effect from next Wednesday, December 9, and we will propose to continue with the quarantine until December 31,” wrote A. Veryga on his Facebook account.
According to Mr. Veryga, the reinforcement of the quarantine will be considered because the measures currently in force are no longer sufficient.
“This time, to reduce overcrowding, we will propose stricter measures, almost analogous to the spring quarantine, in all public places, places of commerce and services, stricter requirements for the educational process, cultural and other areas,” said A Veryga.
