The leader of the Freedom Party, A. Armonaitė, told reporters in the Seimas on Friday that she still believes K. Adomaitis’s candidacy is suitable for the post of minister.
“We still believe our nomination was appropriate. He spoke about the right priorities, the green course, the latest technology, open data. He has the support of the Freedom Party, the Prime Minister and the coalition.
However, since smooth work requires the support of everyone, including the president, we do not have time, the Freedom Party has been considering what could be delegated to the transport ministers. We will announce this last name soon, “said the politician.
A. Armonaitė only said that the potential candidate is a person close to the values of the Freedom Party.
“He is not formally a member of the party.” I hope he agrees to take up this post, “said the party leader.
When asked why K. Adomaitis’s candidacy was rejected, A. Armonaitė declined to comment further.

“I have no explanation and I don’t want to speculate about it,” he said.
The MP said the possible name of the candidate has not yet been revealed, as the party has yet to approve it, as well as the coalition.
“We have indicated to the Prime Minister that if that happens, we have options. That’s it, it was necessary,” he said.
The politician revealed only to the extent that the candidate is not from the transport sector.
“It seems to me that it is good that he is not from that sector. The Freedom Party will not present candidacies related to interests, “said A. Armonaitė.
