Gabidulin said he already had military experience when he joined Wagner. After Ryazan Parachute School, he served in the Airborne Forces for five years.
In 2015, a friend invited him to join Wagner. Arriving at the Molkin base, M. Gabidulin was offered to verify with a lie detector: the future mercenary was asked if he was in contact with representatives of the criminal world.

He signed a contract with Euro Polis in April 2015, which is linked to Vladimir Putin’s businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin. Gabidulin says he liked the frankness.

“Guys, you will travel to wars where our state has interests. Be prepared that this could end badly for you. Death,” he told the company.
M. Gabidulin said Meduzai started as an ordinary person and then took over the leadership of the intelligence company. “My men were operating on the enemy’s front line, a platoon was conducting reconnaissance with the help of drones and other technical means,” he said.
In March 2016, he was wounded in a battle for the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria: a grenade exploded behind him. While he was being treated in the hospital, he decided to write memoirs so as not to forget anything. Later, as he himself claims, it became necessary to tell people that the army and politicians were deceiving the Russians because of Wagner.
“The whole world knows it, and you hide the truth from people. Is that normal?” M. Gabidulin said to Meduzai.
J.Prigožinas wanted a draft
In 2017, M.Gabidulin, working as an assistant to J.Prigožinas, allowed him to get acquainted with the draft of the book. Initially, he gave to read an excerpt on the battle for Palmyra, which J.Prigožinas demanded after reading the entire book.
Prigozhin doesn’t know much about what is happening in Syria. According to M. Gabidulin, people who worked for J.Prigožinas in Wagner stole money: one piece of equipment was bought and another was documented. Apparently J.Prigožinas never wanted to admit that he was being robbed, which was done not only by the agents, but also by his closest assistants.

J.Prigožinas himself is said to have started the publication of several copies of the book, one of which was donated to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. And J.Prigožinas told M.Gabidulin that he will take care of normal circulation later.
The former mercenary claimed that J.Prigožinas helped him a lot, took care of his treatment. However, he cannot agree with what is happening and believes that J.Prigožinas is making a big mistake.
“The most important thing to me is that the book encourages him to reform Wagner. Don’t act so secret: why suffer when everyone knows it?
Because now for four debill, who steal the desert of the pound and cut off his head, it is believed that all the remaining (mercenaries) are also bloodthirsty demons, ”Medusa told the portal.
In November 2019, a video appeared on social media showing Wagner’s mercenaries torturing, beheading and burning an abandoned Syrian from the Syrian army.
According to M. Gabidulin, Wagner employees Dmitry Utkin told the mercenaries to do it, to intimidate other potential defectors. UTkin said it ordered this video to be posted on the internet.
“It is abnormal, and Prigožinas must not forget that his favorite commander told him to do it. And that we created this whole situation with our own hands. Those four sadists must now be brought to justice, but for what reasons? He just said that we are not there, “said M. Gabidulin.
He admitted that Russian mercenaries had taken ancient stones from the jihadist-ravaged city of Palmyra, but that this was not done en masse. M. Gabidulin remembers once he entered the room and found a shattered bas-relief, which, in his opinion, was taken from one of the columns, there were some characters in that bas-relief.
What is happening now at Wagner?
According to Gabidulin, a friend told him that Wagner now serves “young green men” after recently graduating from the military council.
“People who smell blood in Chechnya or during the Georgian war don’t break into the office,” he told Meduzai.
As approximately half of the personnel are involved in the war for the first time, they are constantly humiliated at the Molkin base.
“You are cannon fodder, you are nothing,” the young mercenaries are told, according to M. Gabidulin.
Such a microclimate, in his opinion, does not contribute to the training of professional soldiers: “Go and shoot. We will succeed, we will win, we will not succeed, we will die. “
According to M. Gabidulin, in 2015-2017 Wagner led a platoon of gladiators, today, an army of slaves. It is alleged that cultivated people who have completely lost their minds, a large proportion of commanders of their level do not correspond to the current positions. And the veterans supposedly decided, “Okay, I’ll somehow miss the mission. The main task is to survive.”
Gabidulin says that now the mercenaries no longer think about victory.
Losses on the Euphrates
Gabidulin says the “IS hunters,” an all-Syrian battalion, which he trained himself, initially only pretended to be participating in actual battles. They were just filmed and photographed in the right places, it was just a public relations campaign.
The goal was to show that Syrians, not Russians, were fighting the Islamic State terrorist group. According to M. Gabidulin, this happened even after Palmyra was captured: the “hunters” came only to take pictures. However, over time, the Syrians began to participate in the battles, many of them during the battle near the Euphrates.
It is this battle that took place in February 2018 that he calls the most terrible. The mercenaries then attempted to occupy an oil refinery controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), but were hit by US airstrikes by SDF allies, killing hundreds of mercenaries.
Gabidulin said that he did not know who invented such a risky attack, no one had the courage to ask Praigin.
Gabidulin said Wagner’s commanders in Syria and the Americans were in constant contact. It is said that before the battle, the Americans, as soon as the telephone conversation began, began to pressure to admit that they were Russian mercenaries.
“If our people had confessed, it is possible that the actions of the Americans would have been different.” However, our general reiterated that there are no Russians there. Understandably, on an official level he was afraid to admit it. “Why did he need such trouble?” The former mercenary said to Meduzai.
