According to the report distributed by the municipality, the architects of the Vilnius Plan prepared project proposals for the public spaces that line V. Maciulevičiaus and Sietyno streets and the nearby forest on December 16. will present them to the public.
It is stated that in the preparation of project proposals, the needs and expectations of the neighbors and nearby institutions have been taken into account, and in adapting to the existing landscaping it is proposed to divide the territory into several zones: learning of safe traffic, rest quiet and active leisure.
“Taking into account the needs of the 5th Police Station foreseen for the adjacent plot and the Traffic Police, it is planned to install a road safety training site at the beginning of the park. Police officers say it is important for students to learn the basics of traffic not only at a normal two-lane crossing, but to familiarize themselves with and prepare for difficult traffic conditions. According to officials, an unregulated crosswalk on the 4-lane roadway is one of the most dangerous for pedestrians, so a reduced prototype of this crossing will be presented at a road safety site.
The road safety site also includes other main road elements: a traffic light controlled intersection, a roundabout, a public transport stop, a junction with a safety island through a two-lane road, and a bike lane. On the territory of the park on Sietyno str. it is proposed to draw road signs on a reduced scale, which, according to the authorities, are necessary for the successful education of students, ”says the press release.

On the other side of this future park, in a new building built among the trees, is the Vilnius funeral home. The space itself is along Sietyno Street, which the drivers are already using quite actively, although part of the stretch between V. Maciulevičius and R. Jankauskas is not paved, it is only ready for that: the drivers choose the street to avoid traffic jams and traffic lights. After leveling this stretch, the traffic intensified several times here.
The “Delfiniukas” kindergarten operates at the intersection of V. Maciulevičiaus and Sietyno streets. There are two schools nearby.

Julija Musteikytė-Mora, architect of the Vilnius Plan, author of the project, said that the newly formed park plot borders the state forest, therefore, the architects divided the spaces according to its boundaries:
“It is planned to build pedestrian paths in the place of the now wise paths, thus creating a space for walks and recreation areas in less green areas. When assessing the natural landscape of the Karoliniškės district, it is planned to build wooden games, ladders and swings in the children’s playground. The playground is planned to be located in the southern part of the park, where landscaping is currently scarce or non-existent. “
Sports facilities are planned near the western turnoff. They will be grouped into small sites, there will be stands with information about the order and how the equipment should be used. Under them, it is proposed to install a hybrid grass cover with a special buffer layer. These facilities would be designed to support both the physical fitness of the police officers and the needs of the surrounding population.

The new public space will occupy almost one hectare of land. “The main pedestrian path that crosses the territory to the Tie Bridge is made of concrete blocks, which are in good condition. Take has several benches and bins, and is equipped with lighting. Other hiking trails in the area are prudent, lighting is also lacking. (…)
Despite the lack of infrastructure developed in the area (except for the path that crosses it to the Tie Bridge), it is visited by people of all ages. They come here to run, take a walk with children and pets. The sound of vehicles moving on the western turnoff does not deter the surrounding residents. It can be assumed that it even becomes a unique feature of the territory and attracts people in some way ”, state the project proposals.
