Acting Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga, who presented the government with the tightening of quarantine, said that although the figures are already quite stable, the situation remains complicated.
“As the situation remains difficult, although we already have stable figures, but they remain high, this also places a heavy burden on the health sector. Therefore, it is proposed to adjust and complement the resolution,” said Minister A. Veryga.
The modifications will take effect as of the publication of the resolution.
The rules of divination are changed
Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in Lithuania, the government has decided to apply stricter quarantine measures to reduce the number of people in public places, places of commerce and provision of services.
Thus, the number of people gathered in public and other places has been reduced from 5 to 2 people, and a distance of two meters must be maintained between these groups, with the exception of family members.
You want to reduce traffic in supermarkets
The draft resolution establishes that, taking into account the unfavorable epidemiological situation in Lithuania, it is proposed to apply stricter quarantine measures to reduce the crowds in public places, places of commerce and services.
Given the start of the festive period and the fact that many outlets have Christmas fairs, where various merchants trade not in physical stores, but in temporary outlets with large flows of customers and compliance, it is proposed to ban all stores, supermarkets and carry out transactions in temporary trading places at service points ”, we wrote in the draft resolution.

The exemptions would apply to the trade of food products, pyrotechnics and islets, since they are not carried out in physically separate stores, but, for example, in common supermarkets, aisles and the like.
It is also recommended that all stores, supermarkets, markets and other public outlets and service points do not use short-term sales promotions (sales, discount hours, tastings, etc.) that increase buyers.
Delphi remember that the quarantine has been extended to the entire country until December 17 inclusive.
Morbidity rates are deteriorating rapidly
We are already fourth in the group of countries in the European Union, European Economic Area and the United Kingdom in terms of morbidity. Only Luxembourg, Croatia and Slovenia are ahead of us.
Neighboring countries, although they cannot boast very low morbidity rates, are far from equal to Lithuania. For example, in Latvia the morbidity rate is 335.4, in Estonia it is similar – 336.6, in Poland, which has already sounded the alarm due to increased morbidity – 676.9.
