These surnames are mentioned in the draft list of candidates for the Seimas elections proposed by the Presidium of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP).
According to him, R. Lazutka is offered fifth place on the LSDP candidate list, S. Čaplinskas – nineteenth, S. Krupeckaitė – 25, A. Kaluginas – forty.
The list also shows other notable surnames that were already among the individual party members. Seimas member Linas Balsis is offered eleventh place on the list, economist Vaidas Navickas – fifteenth, writer, journalist Giedrius Drukteinis – twentieth, former head of the Klaipėda Republican Hospital, surgeon Romualdas Sakalauskas – place 35.
Provide a different task for each candidate.
The president of the LSDP, Gintautas Paluckas Delfi, assured that these people have been spoken to, they have all agreed with their party to participate in the elections. Your place on the list is also agreed, it will not change. The final list of LSDP candidates will be approved by the Party Council, and possibly by the Party Conference.
“Each guest with us has their tasks, both during the preparation of the program and afterwards, depending on where we will work, either on the job or in the opposition. (…) With Mr. Lazutka, our opinions often coincide in social policy issues, in terms of the social security system, the social model. His task is to work and reform in this area. He has rightly criticized loudly the second pillar pension system, (…) But that it is only a part.
The competence and professional experience of S. Čaplinskas in the fields of public health and communicable diseases is of great value. For a long time, communicable diseases in Lithuania were in the place of stepchildren. (…) Now it will probably be interesting for everyone again. This will require both structural changes and political initiatives. That is what we are talking about in the program in which we are writing the provisions that we agree on.
This pandemic will do great harm to the mental and emotional health of society. Loneliness, a feeling of unnecessary will expand. A. Kalugin has talked and written a lot about these things.
S. Krupeckaitė – employment of children and young people through sport, participation, development and professional sport. We are declining sharply due to our sporting achievements. We need a person who understands and knows everything perfectly from the inside, ”said G. Paluckas.
Lazutka: traditional festivals must be supported
Economist, sociologist prof. R. Lazutka confirmed that he had agreed to participate in the elections with the LSDP.
“It just came to our attention then. I used to think that maybe there will be some new forces that will be superior to traditional calls, but obviously not,” said R. Lazutka.
For the professor, the choice of the political path seems completely natural.
“A lot of people used to consider me a Social Democrat, although I’m not a party member, but they probably attributed them to me.” Social Democrats are changing, there is a new president, new people are emerging, “said R. Lazutka.
Čaplinskas: lack of expert opinion in decision making
Infectious Diseases Specialist prof. Čaplinskas said he was entering politics because he saw that “sometimes there is a great lack of expert opinion in decision-making.”
“It is a big problem when you don’t listen much. I think I have knowledge that can be useful and would be more useful to provide expert opinion,” said S. Čaplinskas.
Although S. Čaplinskas will go to the polls with the Social Democrats, he has the greatest intention of following his head in his work.
“I cooperate and communicate with everyone, and I will not associate with either party, nor will I join a party. (…) The most clearly invited Social Democrats offered to join my expert opinion. If people support it, I’m not going to associate myself purely (with the party). (…) I think it is necessary to rely primarily on knowledge, intuition and attitudes, “said S. Čaplinskas.
Offers the public to rank candidates.
For the first time, the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) has made it possible for the public to sort its list of future candidates for the Seimas, BNS writes.
This week, Monday through Monday, anyone can nominate a minimum of ten and a maximum of 15 candidates on the list published by the LSDP. The order of precedence is not important, each marked candidate receives a qualification point.
“You can vote once from a different device. It is an indicative ranking, to see general trends, what is going up, what is going down. One or two votes are not important,” LSDP president Gintautas Paluckas told BNS on Wednesday. .
He himself, as party leader, is not classified. The Council will approve him individually as leader of the list of candidates.
According to Wednesday, the member of the Seimas Rasa Budbergytė (1528 votes), the mayor of the Jonava Mindaugas Sinkevičius district (1452), the parliamentarian Julius Sabatauskas (1438), Olekas Juozas junior (1405), the member of the Seimas Algirdas Sysas (1236 ) received the most public support.
G. Paluckas claimed that he would urge M. Sinkevičius to resign as mayor of Jonava if he were elected to the Seimas.
“I would urge him to immerse himself in national politics because it is time. I don’t think Jonava is angry because he has brought good policies, which in turn has done a lot of good for Jonava. I don’t want our strong and fast-growing leaders, there are many , get stuck. I hope I don’t give up as much as I’ve talked about, “the Social Democratic president told BNS.
The ranking list also includes Antanas Nedzinskas, former Member of Parliament, representative of the entertainment world (583 votes), Antanas Valionis, former Foreign Minister (417), Žimantas Pacevičius (322), former head of the Special Investigation Service , Remigijus Baniulis (262), former mayor of Kaunas. Arvydas Garbaravičius (212), former chief of staff of the Joint Armed Forces Algis Vaičeliūnas (169), one of the leaders of the education union Audrius Jurgelevičius (129), former head of the Prison Department Robertas Krikštaponis (125).
“We want the organization to be open.” For a long time, as we understood, we made those ratings ourselves, sometimes we did not avoid intrigues, currents, loyalty judgments, punishment for having an opinion, so we decided to open the process a little bit to the public to see how they see the country, “said BNS. G. Paluckas.
According to him, he will take into account the results of public ranking when adjusting the same list ranked by party members.
“I see in the current ranking that some people, who seemed to be ranked high by the party, are not seen by the public at all. I will make those adjustments, but I need a moral basis for that,” said the leader of the Social Democrats.
According to G. Paluckas, only candidates who belong to the party are ranked, and non-supporters invited to the list are guaranteed a place in advance.
