The fourth victory of the equally possible European Championship team was earned in Group D and the first ticket to the Old World Championship in 2022 was taken by the Croatian team (4-0).
Veljko Mrsičius students in Istanbul 87:72 (22:16, 26:15, 16:18, 19:19) managed the Swedish team (1-3).
The Croats were led by Pavle Marcinkovičius, who scored 20 points (2/3 doubles, 5/6 trit., 1/2 penalties) in 28 minutes, bounced 8 balls and scored 29 utility points. Željko Šakičius added 14 (2/7 trit., 5 rebounds), Miro Bilanas – 12 (10 rebounds), Filipas Krušlinas scored 9, Roko Rogičius added 8 points.
Croatian Marinas Maričius, who competes in Panevėžys “Lietkabelis”, did not appear on the parquet.
Denzel Andersson did not save Sweden from defeat, with 22 points (5/8 trit.), 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 27 utility points. Christopher Cherapovic and Adam Ramstedt added 14 points each, Johan Lofberg 7 points.
