In the industrial park, the new company will produce joysticks for aircraft simulators

On Thursday, the Alytus City Council approved the investment agreement between the municipality and the UAB VIRPIL.


According to Auksė Juonienė, Head of the Alytus City Municipality’s Business and Property Management Department, who presented the issue, in early November a request was received from an investor to lease a piece of land in the Alytus Industrial Park in Fortų str. 7. Investors report that the main products of the company are joysticks, stands and accessories for aircraft simulators. The company is expanding its operations and moving to the European Union.


The explanatory memorandum of the draft decision establishes that with the signing of the investment agreement, the investor will commit to investing at least 929,350 EUR in a plot of 1,8587 ha and creating at least 19 new jobs.


It is observed that if the activities are successful, the company plans to invest a total of about two million euros and create about 50 new jobs during the project.


The investor application was discussed at the Alytus Economic Development Program Commission meeting on November 9. The Commission unanimously agreed that the land in Fortų str. 7 Draft decisions on the conclusion of investment and leasing agreements would be leased in the Alytus Industrial Park and sent to the Alytus City Council.


UAB VIRPIL is committed to starting its activities in 2023. in the spring.
