“The isolation is intended for 14 parliamentarians, not including this number of patients,” NVSC representative Justina Petravičienė told BNS on Tuesday.

When asked which MPs are currently in self-isolation, an NVSC spokeswoman said the institution’s personal data officer was deciding whether the data could be released.

As reported later by the Seimas Chancellery, members of the Freedom Party faction Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, Aušrinė Armonaitė, president of the National Union-Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party Gabrielius Landsbergis, the conservative Jonas Gudauskas and members of the Liberal Movement faction Gentvilas, Ričardas Juška, Virgilijus Alekna, Andrius Bogdanas, Juozas Baublys, Simonas Gentvilas, Arminas Lydeka, Raimundas Lopata, Romualdas Vaitkus.

Aušrinė Armonaitė, leader of the Freedom Party, said that he had not received any notification from the NVSC that he should isolate himself. According to the parliamentarian, two COVID-19 tests have also been carried out, the last one on Sunday, and the results of both tests are negative. The deputy said she worked from home on Monday while waiting for test results.

Vytautė Šmaižytė, a representative of the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party National Union, told BNS that G. Landsbergis had not been instructed to isolate himself, he had carried out three tests and his answers were negative.

The National Center for Public Health later informed BNS that the list of people in contact with the Seimas Chancellery was revised on Tuesday to include A. Armonaitė, leader of the Freedom Party, TV Raskevičius, a member of this party, and G Landsbergis, leader of the Conservatives.

“As a result, these three people did not receive information from the NVSC about the period of isolation. They will be informed immediately,” said J. Petravičienė.

The Seimas Foreign Ministry clarified later Tuesday that the list presented by them includes people who may have had a high-risk exposure to a patient with the COVID-19 disease.

“This list is information compiled by the Seimas Chancellery about the contacts of sick people in the Seimas. It was presented to the National Center for Public Health, which continues the epidemiological study and informs people of the need for isolation, the period of isolation established. (…) The Seimas Chancellery does not have the authority to decide on the need for isolation or its terms, therefore the information provided to the Seimas Chancellery media about the Seimas members who “should isolate “is inaccurate,” the report reads.

However, the NVSC, for its part, states that “the people on the list provided by the Seimas Chancellery must be isolated.”

The Liberal Movement in the Seimas announced on Monday that contacts with a person with a coronavirus virus have isolated all its members.

The Liberal Movement in the Seimas currently has 11 parliamentarians.

The coronavirus was confirmed to the members of this faction Jonas Varkalis, Viktoras Pranckietis, as well as to the Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilyte-Nielsen.

Since the start of the pandemic, COVID-19 has infected 49,000 people in the country. 393 people, 37 thousand. 222 – still sick, 11 thousand. 595 – recovered.
