During the remote meeting, the candidate answered questions from parliamentarians related to changes in the civil service, regional development, environmental protection and the economy, but when it became clear that there was no clear position on the key provisions of the Labor electoral program, professionalism of the team , it was decided to abstain.

According to the elder of the Labor Party faction Vigilijus Jukna, although it was clear during the meeting that there was agreement on some provisions of the program, this is not enough, because the candidate for prime minister did not express a clear position on the most important provisions of the program of the Labor Party.

“Although we agree with some of the provisions of the program, we see that our opinions differ. A vacillating attitude in tackling regional problems, an adaptive approach and pulling the blanket in the interests of the coalition will eventually destroy regional politics. Furthermore, the redistribution of a slightly higher percentage of GDP will not ensure the best services for the population, we are talking about education, its quality, health protection, poverty reduction and social exclusion. Therefore, as a constructive opposition party “We cannot support this candidacy. The Labor Party faction will abstain today,” reports the elder of the faction.
