1,629 people are currently being treated for coronavirus in Lithuanian hospitals, 126 of them undergoing resuscitation, the Health Ministry announced on Monday.

In the Vilnius region, the occupancy of active treatment places for adults in COVID-19 hospitals reaches 86%, and in resuscitation and intensive therapy – 72%.
According to Professor Feliksas Jankevičius, general director of VUL Santara Clinics, although the curve for new infections is already tending to stabilize, the situation remains serious and the occupancy rate of COVID-19 in hospitals is already approaching 90 percent.
“We have reserves, but the number of doctors who can work in these departments is decreasing. Therefore, the help from the support hospitals is increasingly significant,” said F. Jankevičius.
