On the occasion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Day, the flags of the four forces will be flown for the first time.

This year, the ceremonial formation of soldiers and the parade on the Gediminas Avenue, which traditionally takes place in the Vilnius Cathedral Square, will not be held. Many of the traditional events for the various military crews will not be held or will be changed to commemorative forms allowed during the pandemic, in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

The highlight of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Day is the presentation of the flag of the Special Operations Forces (SOP). The Special Operations flag will be officially unveiled and presented at the solemn flag-raising ceremony to be held at the Grand Duke Gediminas General Staff Battalion of Lithuania. After that, the flags of the four Lithuanian Armed Forces will be officially raised for the first time. The Lithuanian Armed Forces Honor Guard Company will conduct a demonstration program with dedicated volleys, with the participation of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra.

Lithuanian Armed Forces Day is celebrated on November 23. This day is associated with the Lithuanian government of 1918. November 23 by the first order on the organization of the Armed Forces of Lithuania. This year marks the 102nd anniversary of the establishment of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
