The Utena Juventus-Uniclub Casino team made solid progress on the 3×3 World Championship stage in Doha, but broke in the semi-finals – 13:21 landed for Riga basketball players.

The Latvians kept the difference and came close to victory (20:13), and the last hopes were swept away by the shot from under the basket.

By the way, it was the Riga team that won the tournament: in the final 21:20 they broke the Serbian Liman basketball players.

In the first stage, Juventus collected both victories, and then in the quarterfinals 21: 7 defeated the Lusail team from Qatar’s Lusail.

Utena’s team completely dominated early in the game and led 4: 1. The gap could have widened, but no pitch was counted. However, soon Sigismund Skučas struck from a distance, caused a foul, but lost the penalty – 6: 2.

Ignas Vaitkus also struck from distance, and the Qatari team continued to stumble, only Souley Ndour’s placement and effective attack reduced the difference – 4: 8. Lusail’s trio scored a triple (6: 9) and accumulated easy points under the basket, although three consecutive attacks by Juventus allowed him to escape again 13: 7.

Utena’s people also took over the balls, seized the opportunity and after I.Vaitkus’ long throws were not that far from the win – 19: 7. The remaining free Ž.Skučas secured the win – 21: 7 .
