“I would not dare to speculate now, I think there will be at least such an offer in three weeks, but maybe even an offer for a longer period,” A. Veryga told reporters about the extension of the quarantine at Seimas on Thursday.

According to him, it can be proposed that the longer quarantine continue in view of the change of government.

“Since there will be a moment of change of government, knowing that until things accelerate, decisions will have to be made very quickly, perhaps even a longer period will be proposed,” said the minister.

The second quarantine was introduced in Lithuania on November 7 and is currently scheduled for November 29.

During quarantine, masks must be worn in public places, activities in cafes, bars and entertainment venues are prohibited, and almost all events, except high-level sports competitions without spectators, are subject to other restrictions.

Very: although the situation of the pandemic cannot be described as good, it is not getting worse

Acting Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga says the epidemiological situation in the country is stabilizing. However, he adds that the situation in hospitals remains tense and says he intends to make a proposal to extend the quarantine for at least three weeks.

“I can still say with certainty that (epidemiological – ELTA) the situation is stabilizing. The more we see that the situation in hospitals is stabilizing, there is no longer a jump in admitted patients (to hospitals – ELTA), the situation becomes more manageable, “he said at a press conference on Thursday.

However, Mr. Veryga pointed out that the situation in the hospitals remained tense.

“(The situation in the hospitals – ELTA) is still tense, without more drastic growth (patient-ELTA), (…) fewer cases and no more sudden increases in the number of patients. But not only the Infectious hospitals, there are other medical institutions, planned activities are suspended (…) The situation cannot really be described as good, it continues to be difficult and tense, but at least it is not getting worse, ”said the acting Minister of Health.
