Already in the past, the decree prohibited “visiting cultural, recreational, entertainment, sports and physical services institutions for visitors.”

The new wording of the resolution expands the following definition: it is prohibited to provide entertainment services, operation of sports facilities, sports clubs, gyms, entertainment, recreation, swimming pools, saunas, discotheques, dance halls, cinemas and movie clubs. All of this is called leisure services.

As the situation, although it is stabilizing, is still really difficult, we do not propose to relax anything yet and we only propose a clarification in the draft resolution. We propose a clearer definition of sports and leisure services that are subject to restrictions during quarantine. (…) There have been situations in which we have seen that established procedures are being abused ”, the interim Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, explained to the members of the Government.

It is forbidden to visit these service institutions and their facilities to serve visitors. It is also prohibited to rent, sublet or use the premises of these institutions when it is intended for the organization of private events, celebrations or other or other meetings.

The prohibitions apply to both natural and legal persons, so it is not possible to rent or visit a private sauna or other leisure object owned by another person.

However, there are exceptions for high-skill sports exercises, individual physical activity sessions (per visitor) provided by a sports or physical activity specialist, instructor, or sports or physical activity specialist service provider. It is necessary to guarantee the conditions established for the management of the flow of people, the observance of a safe distance, the safety of public health, hygiene, the provision of people with the necessary personal protective equipment. It is also possible to visit the public toilets, which are designed to meet people’s hygiene needs.

“The purpose of the draft resolution is to clarify the conditions of the announced quarantine regime throughout the territory of the Republic of Lithuania for the sake of clarity. The draft resolution proposes a clearer definition of leisure, entertainment and sports services that are subject to quarantine restrictions. Due to uncertainties about the classification of certain services such as leisure, entertainment and sports services, the scope of the services is broadened accordingly ”, explains the cover letter.

Acting Minister of Health, A. Veryga, told the media that the new decree aims to clarify the rules for the provision of rental services for private holidays.

“Today there are very cosmetic repairs related to the rental of the premises. Submit videos of people running somewhere in saunas, swimming pools. There are still some ways to circumvent the instructions under the guise of renting, ”said A. Veryga.

The restrictions on the operation of health centers providing recreational services, restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs and other places of entertainment, casinos (casinos) and gaming machines, bingo halls, and places for betting and betting remain unchanged.

All cultural, entertainment, sporting events, celebrations, fairs, festivals or other organized gatherings of people in a public place, commercial and non-commercial, are prohibited for a certain period of time at a predetermined time. No more than 10 people can attend funerals.
