The health care community is ambiguous about A. Dulkis’ candidacy: why not a doctor?

Liutauras Labanauskas, director of the Lithuanian Medical Association, says he is surprised that the vast majority of medical candidates did not show up.

“It is a bit strange for us that apparently the majority today do not have doctors. Anyway, it is better if the Minister of Health has a medical education and even if he has an administrative background. Then he knows what to do, and there are fewer of those problems. , he can speak faster. But it is as it is: if it is offered to a non-doctor, then, by specialization, this minister, if he becomes a minister, will have something to do. Because we have many unresolved health problems. There will be no need of a doctor, but of a person who knows what to do according to the old places of work ”, says L. Labanauskas.

“The list of conservatives includes doctors who have also been executives. Linas Slušnys is the former director of the Center for Child Development at the Republican University Hospital. It is a bit strange to me, ”he adds.

The work done will show its true value.

Vygantas Sudaris, director of the Lithuanian Association of Regional Hospitals, also believes that a doctor could better solve the challenges of the healthcare sector. According to him, sometimes the subtleties of this area are difficult to retell.

“It is best when people who know the system from the inside and have experienced the pros and cons of their skin are involved in the system. There is a very complex system, and sometimes not always verbal, that has so many nuances that you need to know, feel, not learn. But everything is possible. I always try to appear positive. The teamwork and political line you will carry out, the work you do will prove your true worth. We hope for the best, we tend to cooperate, help and work together, ”said the director of Pakruojis Hospital.

V. Sudaris also added that it would not be appropriate to view A. Dulkis as a newcomer in the field of health care. It is said that the candidate for ministers was very interested in the issues of this area while he was still the State Comptroller.

Kristina Norvainytė, president of the Young Doctors Union, notes that A. Dulkis’ independence from the health system can be a positive sign.

“The fact that it is independent of institutions, cities, universities or other forces of the health system, which is really being spoken more and more openly and in the public sphere, has caused many problems for former ministers and reasonable suspicions of opacity, I think that there is only a lot of hope for doctors that this addiction no longer exists, ”he says.

I feel that I know well the causes of various ailments in the health system.

V.Kasiulevičius congratulates, A.Veryga is strange

Professor Vytautas Kasiulevičius from Vilnius University Medical Faculty responded very positively to A. Dulkis’s candidacy on his Facebook account.

“I think Arūnas Dulkys would make a good Minister of Health. Perhaps the influence of the clans in the health system and the continuation of resources among the powerful would eventually end. A good choice. If the president supports it, it would be a very wise decision. ”Writes V. Kasiulevičius.

So far, Jurgita Sejonienė, former vice chair of the board of the Lithuanian Medical Movement chosen by the conservatives as one of the most realistic candidates for this post, also welcomed this election.

Meanwhile, the current incumbent Health Minister, Aurelijus Veryga, called this choice strange. According to him, A. Dulkys could be appropriate later, but not now, when it is necessary to deal with very big problems in managing a coronavirus pandemic.

A.Dulkys will not look for errors, it will try to collect

The candidate for health ministers assures that he does not intend to look for the errors of Aurelia Veryga, but will focus all his attention on mobilizing and exiting the coronavirus crisis.

“To handle the crisis, you need to focus, adjust the candles, one of the first candles is to focus for everyone, so I would definitely not start from the search for mistakes, because we all make mistakes,” Dulkys told BNS on Wednesday.

“My first job would be to dedicate all the first hours, minutes and seconds of work to see how we can approach and solve this problem, how to get out of this crisis,” he continued.

“On the battlefield, the books are unreadable and on the battlefield, relationships are not clarified, or there is a solution to the crisis, or then there is no place for those people on the front line,” said the candidate to ministers of health.

The former state ombudsman also noted that he felt a civic duty to contribute to solving the coronavirus crisis and said he knew how to deal with the problems.

A.Dulkys also stated that he knows well the problems of the health system and will try to correct not the consequences, but their causes.

A. Dulkys served as a candidate for State Comptroller. President Gitanas Nausėda did not propose to expand the works.
