According to the municipality’s official Facebook account, the second 28-bed COVID unit will open here starting Thursday, November 19 (the first such unit with 28 beds was opened on November 4. patients).
As of November 17, Ukmergė Hospital suspended planned surgeries and hospitalization of patients in the Departments of Neurology and Cardiology.
According to the municipal report, patients from Anykščiai and Elektrėnai hospitals agreed to receive neurology and cardiology profiles. Patients with an internal disease profile continue to be admitted to Širvintos Hospital, but referral of these patients to Molėtai Hospital is suspended.
Ukmergė Hospital continues to provide emergency care: in the admission departments: emergency care, surgery, orthopedic traumatology, pediatrics, obstetrics.
“Outpatient care at the Consultation Polyclinic and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation remains for the moment, but some specialists may not work. If necessary, the provision of other services can be suspended,” the municipality said in a statement.
The municipality also reported that COVID-19 patients are not admitted directly to the hospital, as it is a support hospital for COVID.
“Patients are admitted to our hospital solely under the direction of Santara Clinics, the leading personal health care institution (ASPI), the Vilnius University Hospital (VUL). Patients who develop a need for hospital services after being diagnosed with COVID-19 must first go (or be transported) to the main ASPI, the Center for Infectious Diseases of the VUL Santara Clinics, ”the report explains.
