David Sirvydis, a Lithuanian from Hapoel in Jerusalem, will not be registered for today’s Israeli league game as he prepares to leave Detroit, the sports.walla.co.il website reported.
According to the website BasketNews.lt, the defender of the Detroit Pistons club will try to enter the NBA during the G League.
The NBA free agent market opens this week and clubs will be able to sign contracts starting November 22.
If the athlete broke into the NBA, his career in Israel would end.
In 2019, the Pistons selected Sirvydis with 37 calls on the NBA Rookie Exchange.
Today at Hapoel’s guests in Jerusalem at 9 pm will meet Tel Aviv Hapoel. Two more Hapoel Legionnaires, Malcolm Hill and J’Covan Brown, will not compete in the match.
This season, Sirvydis has yet to play in the Israel League and has played two games in the Champions League. The average basketball player who spends 10 minutes on the court scored a total of 1 point.
Sirvydis played the last match on November 11, when he met the Limoges CSP club.
