Retail chain Maxima has been informing the public about all cases of workers infected with COVID-19 since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yesterday, COVID-19 infection was detected in three employees in Vilnius. Maxima XXX stores located on Savanorių Ave. 247, the worker who was last infected with the coronavirus was at her workplace on November 10. Three colleagues who had potentially close contact with a COVID-19 patient self-isolated. Another patient at the Vilnius Maxima XX store, Ukmergės str. 369, the employee last visited her workplace on November 6. There were no close contacts with other people. The coronavirus was also diagnosed in Vilnius at the Maxima XXX store, Ozo str. 18, employees of an existing culinary workshop. He was last at his workplace on November 12. No close contacts were found.

COVID-19 illnesses were diagnosed in two employees in Kaunas. Maxima XX Store, Šarkuvos str. 1А, the employee was at her workplace for the last time on November 6. No close contacts were found. Two Maxima X stores in Rietavas, Plungės str., Were infected with coronavirus. 2A, employees. One of them last visited their workplace on November 9 and the other on November 10. These illnesses are unrelated because the employees did not have high-risk contact with each other. Furthermore, no possible close contact with other people has been identified.

COVID-19 was also diagnosed at the Maxima XXX store in Marijampolė, V. Kudirkos str. 3, personal. You last visited work on November 2 and isolated yourself because COVID-19 is a sick family member. There were no contacts with colleagues.

The Maxima X stores in Ukmergė, Anykščių str., Were also infected with the coronavirus. 6-1, employee. He last visited the job on November 7. No close contacts were found.

Stores and other premises where workers infected with COVID-19 worked were completely cleaned and disinfected. According to E. Dapkienė, the employees and shoppers of the Maxima store can feel safe and continue to visit these stores.

“Currently, we meet extremely strict hygiene requirements: shopping carts, baskets and other miscellaneous surfaces are periodically disinfected, and fresh air circulation is increased for store ventilation. Employees are informed of additional recommendations to avoid direct contact with each other and to maintain a safe distance. We also encourage our employees to test for COVID-19 for prevention purposes in all municipalities that only organize such tests, “says E. Dapkienė.

Maxima has special coronavirus insurance for its current and future employees. Employees receive the necessary protective equipment: medical masks or safety shields, gloves, hand disinfectant fluids. Temperature is measured daily for Maxima employees. If employees feel unwell, have symptoms of a cold or the flu, they are asked to stay home.

Currently, the flow of shoppers entering stores is limited in Lithuania. Shoppers are asked to keep a safe distance of 2 meters in stores, not forgetting to wear protective masks, disinfect their hands and wear free disposable gloves, which can be found at the entrance. All Maxima stores have free access to a protective mask.

A total of 142 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 49 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 1,397 employees of the Maxima retail chain have been investigated for COVID-19. At present, responses to the tests of 65 employees are still pending.
