Diseases of the digestive system are one of the most common in human life. According to the Center for Public Health, even one in ten patients has problems with the digestive tract. One of the biggest influences on gut health and function is determined by when, how and what we eat.

The singer, host of the show Vaida Genytė, who agrees to reveal her recipe for strong health this Sunday on the TV8 TV show “Sveikatos medis”, also agrees with this. The woman says she has been listening to her body for several years and eats only when she is hungry, according to a press release.

“My day starts with water and then coffee with a piece of chocolate. This is my breakfast because in the morning or during the day I’m not hungry and I don’t even try to reshape my body. I start feeling hungry only in the second half of the day. , so dinner at my house is big and complete ”, V. Genytė will share the peculiarities of nutrition.

A woman does not hide the fact that eating heavy food impairs not only well-being, but also the quality of sleep. It is not easy to eat healthy on a regular basis during concerts or filming, but Vaida does everything possible to choose only the right foods for your body.

“If I eat foods that are difficult to digest late at night, this has a great effect on the quality of sleep. My stomach feels like it’s full of sand, so I can’t get a good night’s sleep and I try to avoid this feeling as much as possible ”, says V. Genytė.

The functioning of the human digestive system depends on the microbiota of the intestine. It is a collection of intestinal microorganisms that consists of approximately 2 kg of various species of good bacteria. According to doctors, the gut has its own nervous system, in which there are more neurons than in the brain, so when digestion is hit, a person’s overall well-being is hit.

“Extra large intestine 80 percent. Its nutrients are derived from the contents of the intestines, so the contents must be healthy. If a person does not receive cavernous nutrients, inflammation occurs. Even when a person is fed intravenously due to other diseases, we still try to give as much food as possible through the mouth so that the intestinal epithelium receives the food from the inside ”, says the head of the Center for Hepatology, Gastroenterology and Dietology, VU Santara Clinics, Jonas Valantinas.

In case of digestive problems, doctors recommend digestive enzymes that a person should normally obtain from raw, plant-based foods. Plant-based digestive enzymes are a natural means of supporting the breakdown of food. However, not all products can be eaten raw or due to malnutrition, not enough is eaten. However, insufficient digestive enzymes can be compensated for with dietary supplements such as Lepicol, which contain fiber to aid digestion. They not only accelerate the movement of food in the intestine, but also cleanse the intestine of unnecessary harmful substances.

High levels of fiber are found in wheat, oats, beans, raspberries, dates, figs, prunes, or apricots. There is also a great source of fiber in the whitish vein lobes, which form a gelatinous mass in the human intestine and effectively soften the intestinal contents, facilitating their elimination.

“Everyone needs to control their weight and if it starts to gain, they usually starve. However, my suggestion is to divide the food portion into two parts and give the second part to your enemy. There are no different diets, neither by moon phases nor by blood groups. Worse still, when you start using urinary products, it is only the weakening of the body, and the main thing is the amount of food: if the weight starts to increase, the amount of food should be reduced ”, – prof. Jonas Valantinas.

A study conducted a few years ago showed that Lithuanians consume very little fiber – only 18g per day, when a healthy human body would need 25-30g. High-fiber foods digest longer, so you don’t get hungry as quickly.

“There was a time when I didn’t think much about what I was eating, but now that concern is really very active and important. Sometimes they ask me how I manage to maintain a beautiful figure, but the well-being of each woman does not depend on what what is on the plate, but how we live. For me it is important to sleep well, have a lot of positive spirit and good humor “, V. Genytė will share the recipe for vitality.

Flu Vaccines May Help Fight COVID-19 Infection

If in previous years people weren’t in a rush to get a flu shot, this year the first batch of vaccines was vaccinated in less than a few weeks. Doctors are also noticing that people around the world who fear the COVID-19 virus are more likely to appreciate the benefits of vaccines. However, despite this virus, cold weather inevitably increases the incidence of influenza, so the elderly and people at risk are invited to get vaccinated for free, they just need to go to their medical institution.

“Flu shots should be a regular part of each fall, as there is a slightly different flu vaccine each year, so when we get vaccinated for a long time, we can develop antibodies against a wide variety of strains of flu. This fall is special because we have two airborne infections: the flu and COVID-19. Both diseases greatly weaken the human immune system, the respiratory tract, so if we get vaccinated against the flu, we help our immune system to fight another possible coronavirus infection ”, says the qualified doctor in biomedical sciences, prof. Infectologist. Alvydas Laiškonis.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Each year, more than 1.5 million new cases of lung cancer are diagnosed worldwide. It is an insidious disease, because for a long time it develops unnoticed, a person does not feel any symptoms, and the first of them is often guessed by hand.

“The person himself should pay attention to the initial symptoms: if cough, sputum, shortness of breath or coughing up blood for more than 3 weeks, fatigue, weight loss, consult a doctor. Smoking is the main factor risk for lung cancer, but the presence of smokers in the environment, air pollution and genetics can have a significant impact ”, says LSMUL Kaunas Clinics Head of the Pulmonology Clinic of the Thoracic Oncology and Interventional Pulmology Sector , pulmonologist Prof Marius Žemaitis.
