“You don’t even know where your greatest glorifier of the Lithuanian name lives, well I’m sorry. People come here, from all cities, from all over the world, from world stars. I don’t just need to sweep here, collect dog shit, watch heaps of garbage. Now I still have a “wonderful bicycle park”. It is very wonderful, thank you very much for being so European, but I would like to take that Europe a little further away from me, “said Juozas.

Not only that, according to Juozas, new bike racks are stuck with old, rusty, and unrideable bikes. Juozas suspects that the municipality intentionally parked those bicycles to make the stands appear used and that Mayor Remigijus Šimašius disturbed Juozas.

“These bikes were gone an hour ago, someone brought them, they parked and they show how important they are here. I understand that there is a wonderful announcement for the municipality, because they know that if Statkevičius shouts, all of Lithuania will see it. It is so that, please, gentlemen, more taste, respect for the people, ”said J. Statkevičius while filming the program on camera.

This is not the designer’s first conflict with the Vilnius authorities. For four years, J. Statkevičius has been trying to fix the facade and surroundings of the house where his fashion salon is located for his money. However, they do not receive permits from the municipality.

“The projects were carried out in 2016. He neither looked nor called, nothing. Well, you see, the municipality wants to legalize the lawn, apparently they smoked the lawn and built bikes where they like it. I’m very sorry, I have nothing against it, smoke, do what you want, ride your bike, as much as you want, wherever you want, ”says Juozas.

During an interview with Juozas Statkevičius, KK2 journalists showed Anton Nikit, one of the managers of the company “Susiekimo paslaugos”, who built bicycle stands at the site. The designer has given him an ultimatum: either you take out the bike racks yourself or they disappear.
