New COVID-19 morbidity and mortality registries have been established in Poland

According to the Ministry of Health, the coronavirus infection was confirmed by COVID-19 tests in 24,692 people and 373 patients died daily.

On Tuesday 19,364 new cases of infection and the death of 227 patients were reported.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 439,536 people have been tested for coronavirus infection in the country, of which 6,475 have died, authorities said.

The Polish Ministry of Health reported on Twitter that among the latest COVID-19 victims, 57 deaths were directly related to complications from coronavirus infection and another 316 patients also had comorbidities.

Of the most recent cases, 3,952 were detected in the Western Voivodeship of Greater Poland, the largest city of which is Poznan. Another 2,797 COVID-19 cases were detected in the central Mazovian Voivodeship, which also includes the capital Warsaw.

As of Wednesday morning, 18,654 coronavirus-infected patients were treated in the country’s hospitals, of which 1,625 required artificial lung ventilation.

To date, 168,960 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the country, the Health Ministry said.
