According to the director, the National Center for Public Health cannot do that either.
Can’t track cases
Paulius Vasilavičius, director of the Jonava Hospital, announced that 10 employees were ill at the medical institution.
“There are 5 administrative staff, 3 support staff and 2 doctors. But since there are doctors in the administration, they work at the same time, everything overlaps, ”said P. Vasilavičius.
The director said that the staff had contact with patients.
“The staff had contacts with the patients. Here is the question whether the employees got infected from the patients or whether the employees infected the patients, but now these cases can no longer be traced, because the Lithuanian National Public Health Center no longer follows them, “he said P. Vasilavičius.
Will continue to provide emergency assistance
Jonava Hospital will continue to provide emergency care.
“We must provide emergency assistance and we will certainly provide it. We only consult with the staff, that is, about the provision of polyclinic consulting services. We will see how we manage to regulate the flows, but if such a situation is difficult, we will also have to stop consulting the services, that is, outpatient services. This would be the second level: consultations with specialist doctors “, said the director of tv3.lt.
Decisions on service restrictions or cancellations will be made on Wednesday.
“We have not canceled any services for this minute, but other decisions will be made tomorrow,” said the director.
The hospital director said he had warned residents in hopes of meeting them.
“We have prepared a press release so that people do not go for details. Only people are used to it sometimes, if their temperature rises a little and they don’t call the GP, he goes to the reception with us, jamming him a lot. In this way, we ask for awareness so that people evaluate the need to go to a medical institution, ”said Fr Vasilavičius.
Scheduled emergency assistance must also be provided
Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis announced at a press conference on Tuesday that the issue of medical services was actively discussed in the government.
Emergency care is expected to be fully provided, as well as COVID-19 diagnosis, treatment, and isolation; planned emergency care is fully guaranteed, without which the patient’s condition can deteriorate significantly.
Only in institutions where Covid-19 treatment is provided, planned assistance can be proportionally limited to ensure compliance with the principles outlined above.
The Prime Minister has ensured that private services will not be restricted. In general, all services that can be provided remotely are offered there and relocated.
