Janulevičius on universal quarantine: the question of whether we will strive financially

“Human health is a key factor in this area and there is a need for a very segmented look at where COVID-19 is spreading. The fact that in entertainment venues where alcohol is consumed, it can often be seen by the nights that the level of protection is, to put it mildly, poor, ”V. Janulevičius told Eltai.

“And in all other places we have to look carefully and try to work with a scalpel, because the less we close a business, the less it needs support. The global quarantine, if we close everything completely as in spring, is effective, we have seen it, but the question is whether we are going to stretch economically. Those bankruptcies that will occur sooner or later will have a significant negative impact on the state’s economy. Here you need to work with a scalpel. The proposal is to examine each case more closely ”, added the president of LPK.

Early Tuesday, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis announced that on Wednesday the government would consider introducing universal quarantine.

If the proposals were accepted, the catering establishments would be closed and only food would be allowed. There would be no special restrictions for grocery stores and pharmacies, other stores must provide at least 10 m2 M. meters per buyer.

It is also suggested to stop sports clubs, swimming pools, spas, prohibit dancing, singing and other contact activities.

Activities in hotels would not be prohibited, but group services would not be allowed and the use of masks would be mandatory. It is also proposed to limit catering services in hotels, except for the delivery of food to the rooms or to take away.
