With the increasing number of coronavirus infections in the last week, the main burden has fallen on the Department of Admissions and Emergencies of the Center for Infectious Diseases to assess the health status of patients and manage patient flows. The head of the department, Linas Svetikas, reports that between 35 and 45 patients, the vast majority of whom are currently infected with COVID-19, present to the Department of Admission-Emergencies of the Center for Infectious Diseases on a daily basis. Some days, nearly half of those who arrive are hospitalized: “Strict infection control requirements are met. Coronavirus patients are treated only in dedicated wards, which are simply inaccessible to non-staff members or bystanders. “

The Santara clinics currently have four rooms for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, they are located in three different bodies. If a coronavirus patient is identified in any non-covariate ward of the hospital, that patient would be transferred to the COVID-19 ward for further treatment. “Probably one of the most important problems faced by other institutions is infection or isolation of employees after contact. In this way, various departments lose staff and increase workloads,” says L. Svetikas.
