An employee of a food production workshop in Vilnius, who was diagnosed with COVID-19, last visited the workplace on October 26 and was in self-isolation because he had close contact with a sick colleague. He underwent a COVID-19 test on October 28. In this unit, four more employees are in self-isolation.

The coronavirus-infected Maxima XX stores located in Šiauliai, Tilžės str. 225, the employee last visited her workplace more than a week ago, on October 21. He underwent a COVID-19 test on October 29. A colleague who may have been in contact with an infected COVID-19 was isolated.

Maxima stores and other locations where COVID-19 staff were ill have been completely disinfected. “Today, we meet extremely strict hygiene requirements: shopping carts, baskets and other miscellaneous surfaces are periodically sanitized, and fresh air circulation is increased for store ventilation. Employees are informed of additional recommendations to avoid direct contact between them and to maintain a safe distance. We also encourage our employees to carry out COVID-19 detection tests for prevention purposes in all municipalities that only organize such tests, “says E. Dapkienė.

Maxima has insured its current and future employees with special coronavirus insurance. Employees receive the necessary protective equipment: medical masks or safety shields, gloves, hand disinfectant fluids. Temperature is measured daily for Maxima employees. If employees feel unwell, have symptoms of a cold or the flu, they are asked to stay home.

Currently, the flow of shoppers entering the stores is limited in Lithuania. Shoppers are asked to keep a safe distance of 2 meters in stores, not to forget to wear protective masks, disinfect their hands and wear free disposable gloves, which can be found at the entrance.

All Maxima stores have free access to a protective mask. Free face masks will be distributed until November 11.

A total of 62 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 24 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 956 Maxima employees have been investigated for COVID-19. Currently 76 employee test responses are pending.
