Representatives of the Maxima retail chain note that they are currently unaware that more colleagues in the same Maxima stores and its divisions experience symptoms of COVID-19 infection. A complete disinfection has been carried out in the businesses where workers infected by coronavirus have worked.

“As the COVID-19 infection spreads faster and faster in the country every day, we are also seeing a significant increase in the number of cases among our employees. The coronavirus was detected yesterday by eleven Maxima employees who are being cared for at home. Employees who had potentially close contact with colleagues with COVID-19 were isolated. Store facilities and other units where coronavirus-infected workers worked have also been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected internally. We consulted with the National Center for Public Health and we take all recommended preventive actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ”, says Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Department of Communication and Image of the Maxima retail chain.

An employee of a food production workshop in Vilnius, who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 disease, last visited the workplace on Friday, October 23. He underwent a COVID-19 test on October 27. During the epidemiological diagnosis, two potentially close contacts with colleagues were identified. The employees were isolated by themselves.

A Maxima XXX employee in Kaunas Akropolis was diagnosed with COVID-19 on October 27. He was last at work on October 26. The two colleagues who may have had contact isolated themselves.

Coronavirus infected in Lentvaris, Geležinkelio str. An employee of the Maxima X store in 11A has been isolating herself since last Thursday, October 22, because she was in contact with a colleague who was diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. He was tested for COVID-19 on October 27. Since the employee has been in isolation for some time, she had no close contacts.

COVID-19 infection was also detected in 6 more employees in Joniškis. In the Maxima XX store here, Upytės str. On the 19th, after the first identified cases of COVID-19, colleagues who may have been in contact with patients self-isolate themselves since last week.

A total of 52 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 24 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 895 employees of the Maxima retail chain have been investigated for COVID-19. Currently, 54 employee test responses are still pending.
