At the time, Gabriel Landsberg, chairman of the Conservative Party, which would form the center-right coalition at the time, was urging authorities to refrain from appointments during the transition period.

“It was definitely not coordinated with the Seimas, this candidacy was not presented anywhere,” A. Širinskienė told BNS on Thursday.

On Thursday, Justice Minister Elvinas Jankevičius, who headed the selection committee, said that she had communicated with BNS “something with the adviser to the president” about the candidacy of E. Pašil.

“The president will have to decide, I communicated a bit with the advisor, as if the feedback was positive, but I cannot say if he will confirm or not. The president will evaluate all the pros and cons and make a decision, “said E. Jankevičius.

According to the president of TTK, such harmonization seems strange.

“Another thing is that the objectivity of the selection looks very interesting, if it is coordinated with the Presidency,” said the representative of the “campesinos” ruler.

She also stated that she was surprised that E. Pasilas, who had questions about the Seimas TTK, had been selected and an audit requested from the State Audit Office.

“I am a bit surprised, because his work as a prosecutor was not very unequivocal in the public sphere. There were several stories about the daughter’s appointed godparents to senior positions, when those godparents did not shine in the selection of prosecutors, ”said A.Širinskienė.

“If I remember correctly, there were also cases against him against the state while he was still working in the judiciary,” he continued.

I am a bit surprised, because his work as a prosecutor was not very ambiguous in the public sphere, said A. Širinskienė.

Last week, the Vilnius City District Court dismissed a lawsuit against 14 people, including Attorney General E. Pasilis, for damage to health at work in a mercury-contaminated Ukmergė court due to the statute of limitations. Former Ukmergė court president E.Pashilis and others petitioned the Government and the National Court Administration to order 224,000. euros. This decision can still be appealed.

“On the one hand, it is a very controversial ethical candidacy. Another thing is that in the committee we have a situation where we have a number of complaints from the regional prosecutors, both Šakiai and Raseiniai, it seems to me that the Kelmė prosecutors have submitted a request, “Peasant”.

According to her, she contacted the State Prosecutor’s Office because no response was received from the General Prosecutor’s Office regarding the reform in progress.

A.Širinskienė added that the candidacy of E. Pasilas to the judges of the General Court of the EU had not been discussed in the coalition council either.

“This candidacy has never been discussed in the Coalition Council. I attend all the sessions, I remember what we discussed,” said the Spokesperson of the Seimas TTK, adding that she has nothing against E. Pašilis as a person, but his activities they ask you questions.

According to E.Jankevičius, the selection commission consisted of representatives of the Seimas, the Government and the Council of Judges, and E.Passilis’ candidacy was approved by a large majority.

One of the members of the selection commission is Gediminas Kirkilas, leader of the ruling “social workers”.

Landsbergis urges authorities to refrain from dating

Gabrielius Landsbergis, leader of the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union, which won the Seimas elections, urges outgoing rulers to abstain from appointments during the transition period.

“We urge outgoing governors to refrain from making new appointments, appointments and hires during the transition period,” Landsberg told BNS on Thursday.

“Lithuanian representatives in international organizations are always the ambassadors of their country, so they should not overshadow their prestige with hasty decisions among the government,” he said.

The leader of the conservatives also admitted that the candidacy of E. Pasilas had not been coordinated with them as future rulers.

G.Landsbergis also stated that he did not yet know whether or not he would support the candidacy of E.Pashilis during the vote in the Seimas, as this was not discussed in the faction.

We urge outgoing governors to refrain from making new appointments, appointments and hires during the transition period, Landsberg said.

The candidacy of E. Pašilis still has to be approved by the Government, President Gitanas Nausėda and the Seimas, and later by an evaluation committee in Luxembourg.

According to Justice Minister E.Jankevičius, if the president approves the candidacy of E.Pashilis, the Seimas of the new term will probably have to vote on her.
